Healthcare Costs

Healthcare should be affordable and straightforward. Tanya will fight to stop hidden pharmacy middleman practices, expand access (including telehealth), and reduce out-of-pocket costs—especially for chronic conditions.

Tanya will work across the aisle on reforms that protect patients. Her focus is practical: cut prescription costs driven by middlemen, protect patients from benefit “fine print,” expand preventive care, and keep telehealth available when it saves time and money. She’ll push reforms that help families pay less at the pharmacy counter and avoid delaying care until it becomes an emergency.

Tanya’s healthcare plan is built around three common-sense goals:

  1. Lower what families pay at the counter. That means standing up to pricing practices that leave patients paying more while middlemen profit.

  2. Stop the “fine print” that inflates out-of-pocket costs. If a patient (or help on their behalf) pays toward their medicines, it should count—period.

  3. Make it easier to get care early. Preventive care and telehealth save families money and keep small problems from becoming expensive emergencies.

Legislation Tanya would support

  • SB 970: ensures dollars paid by or on behalf of a patient count toward out-of-pocket maximums for certain drugs.

  • SB 1182: caps insulin cost-sharing and reduces the risk of rationing.

  • SB 1705: strengthens preventive coverage without cost-sharing.

  • SB 79: supports coverage and access improvements, including telehealth-related provisions.

  • SB 45 (stalled): PBM/insurer practice reforms that would help families and independent pharmacies.

Every dollar helps us reach more families and build a campaign that puts people over politics.
